Couples
Relationships can provide a great sense of joy and connection. They can also be really tough. For most of us, that initial sense of romance gives way to everyday realities and it can feel impossible to get the spark back. A lot of couples come to see us for help with:
-
Connection
-
Communication
-
Conflict Resolution
-
Affair/Betrayal Recovery
-
Discernment
-
Parenting Issues
-
Transitions
We all have advanced training in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), a research based type of therapy aimed at helping couples move past repetitive arguments and build a more secure, loving and connected bond. Your therapist will be warm, non-judgmental, and collaborative in helping you and your partner more deeply understand yourself, each other and your communication patterns.
Counseling with start with a session together, an individual session with each partner and then the rest of the sessions all together. Couples therapy varies in length depending on goals, duration of issue, additional trauma or stressors but a lot of couples start feeling a shift 8-12 sessions in. Some couples feel like their work is complete then and some stay for longer periods of time or keep check in sessions as a part of their relationship self-care routine.
